What is the best time for a wildlife safari in Sri Lanka?

The best time for wildlife safaris (especially Yala and Udawalawe) is:

  • December to March – dry season in the south/east, best leopard & elephant sightings
  • May to September – good for Wilpattu & Minneriya (north-central dry season)

We can help you choose the right park and time based on your travel dates.

Do I need to book far in advance?

Peak season (December–April) books up faster — we recommend 2–4 weeks in advance.

Off-season or last-minute trips are often possible — just WhatsApp us and we'll do our best to arrange something perfect for you.
